Balochistan: female officer transferred 4 times in a month
News Desk :
The Balochistan government has transferred a female officer, Fareeda Tareen four times in a period of month. Social media activists shared repeated transfer orders of the female officer on social media networks. Despite repeated attempts, Quetta Voice was not able to speak to Fareeda Tareen.
On Twitter and Facebook, people termed Fareeda Tareen’s transfer orders as a clear violation of the supreme court’s order and service rules.
Fareeda Tareen, a grade-17 officer served as an acting deputy secretary in the office of the Chief Secretary Balochistan. In the CS office, she served from October 2020 and then posted as an assistant commissioner Quetta.
Fareeda Tareen transferred within one day as AC Quetta
Within one day of assuming the charge of AC Quetta, she received another transfer order. After five days, the government issued another notification and posted her as Section Officer-11 in the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD).
On February 25, Fareeda Tareen posted as Section Officer-1 in the S&GAD nine days after the first notification. On March 16, the government issued her fourth-order and posted her as Section Officer in the Industries Department.
Her transfers termed as a violation of service rules 2012Â
As per service rules of the Balochistan government 2012, provincial secretaries, deputy secretaries, additional secretaries, section officers can serve a minimum of 3 years at one position.
Liaquat Shahwani, the Spokesman government of Balochistan took to Twitter and termed it a routine official matter.
The Balochistan High Court (BHC) has also repeatedly suspended the provincial government’s order with regard to the transfer of officers in a short span of time. Recently, a division bench of the BHC suspended the transfer order of the Secretary of Culture and Tourism, Asghar Harifal.
The S&GAD also preferred not to comment over the repeated transfers of Fareeda Tareen. “Government continues to violate posting and transfer policy”, Abdul Malik Kakar, the President Balochistan Secretariat Officers Association said.
The officers have expressed their reservations over continued violation of the supreme court’s orders in terms of posting and transfers, Mr. Kakar mentioned.
In Balochistan, blue-eyed officers always get posted on key positions. However, the officers who challenge and argue with political bosses face the brunt of repeated transfers. Ayesha Zehri, the Assistant Commissioner Mastung had also faced a similar situation in Balochistan’s district Chaghi.
