Work underway on 199 projects in Southern Balochistan: Jam Kamal

Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan on Thursday said work was underway on 199 development projects in Southern Balochistan. “For the first time, massive development activity launched”, he said in a statement.

He however mentioned that 80 were ongoing development schemes and 119 were new projects. Jam Kamal stated that the provincial government has however taken a lead in 67 development projects underway at the cost of Rs. 104.68bs. However, the Federal Government was implementing 52 projects at the cost of Rs. 219.65b.

In Buleda: The government was working on projects for development of the infrastructure at the cost of Rs. 999.802bs. This project in Buleda Tehsil of district Kech launched in 2020.

“Infrastructure development project to be completed by 2023”, the Chief Minister expressed the hope. He said for the first time in the history of the province, development projects on such a huge scale launched.

Projects to improve socio-economic conditions 

“Completion of projects would improve socio-economic conditions of the area”, Jam Kamal added. He said the provincial government has given importance to far-flung areas of the province in terms  of development. “Government wants to bring backward areas at par with developed parts of the country”, Jam Kamal said.

Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) led federal government has launched Southern Balochistan package to bring the coastal belt and Mekran at par with other parts of the country. Prime Minister had also visited Turbat and announced a number of development schemes earlier.
