Senate election 2021 Balochistan: Achakzai calls on Mengal

Two key leaders of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) discussed a joint strategy about the senate elections in Balochistan. Chief of Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP), Mehmood Khan Achakzai called on the chief of Balochistan National Party (Mengal), Sardar Akhtar Mengal to discuss the upcoming senate elections.

The two leaders discussed all ways and means to make sure the success of the anti-government alliance’s candidates from Balochistan. Achakzai visited the residence of Akhtar Mengal along with other party leaders.

Other leaders from BNP M and PKMAP were also present 

Balochistan Assembly members from BNP Sanaullah Baloch, Malik Naseer Shahwani, Babu Rahim Mengal were present during the meeting. However, Senator Usman Kakar, Rahim Ziaratwal and Raza Muhammad Raza accompanied Mehmood Achakzai.

The BNP has 10 legislators in the house of 65 in the Balochistan Assembly. Whereas, the PKMAP has only one legislator Nasrullah Zarai in the house.

Both PDM component parties have fielded their candidates for the senate elections.

PDM parties are yet to make a formal announcement 

Component parties of the 11 parties anti-government alliance are yet to make a formal announcement regarding joint candidates for the upper house. JUI F and BNP M had also held a series of meetings with regard to senate elections. Malik Naseer Shahwani, the parliamentary leader of BNP M said the two main opposition parties have finalized a formula for the upcoming senate elections.
