Quetta airport road blocked against murder of a man in a land dispute

Angry protesters blocked main airport road Quetta on Friday against the murder of a man in the Nawan Killi area. A man identified as Sohbat Khan Kakar murdered in a land dispute.
Convener Pashtoon Ulas Quami Jirga, Nawab Ayaz Khan Jogezai also joined the protest against the killing of Sohbat Kakar. “Government must apprehend the killers”, Mr. Jogezai demanded.

The protesters brought the dead body on the road to mount pressure on the administration to arrest the killers. “We demand the arrest of the killers”, Malik Sikandar Khan Advocate, the opposition leader in Balochistan Assembly who joined the protest demanded.
A large number of protesters blocked the road from the airport road and Nawab Killi side and suspended all kinds of traffic. People faced difficulties in reaching their destinations following the blockade of the road.
DC Quetta assures arrest of killers
Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Major (R) Aurangzai Badini addressed the angry protesters and assured the arrest of elements involved in land grabbing in Nawan Killi.
The additional deputy commissioner, Saqib Kakar and senior police officers also reached the spot of protest. “Administration would ensure the arrest of killers”, Mr. Kakar assured the protesters.
However, the protesters refused to end the protest and demanded stern action against elements of the land mafia. The protesters chanted full-throated slogans against police and district administration for what they call their failure to protect the ancestral lands of people.
Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal of the Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) also joined the protest and demanded the arrest of killers.
Police said one person killed another injured in a land dispute in Quetta’s Nawan Killi on Thursday evening. The incident sparked protests against the killing.
The protesters peacefully dispersed following an assurance by the DC Quetta and other high-ups regarding the arrest of killers.
