Mathar Niaz Rana posted as chief secretary Balochistan

QUETTA: Mathar Niaz Rana, a grade-22 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service has been posted as the Chief Secretary of Balochistan. According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division on Tuesday, the Federal Secretary Planning and Special Initiative Division, Mr. Mathar Niaz Rana has been posted as the CS Balochistan.
The outgoing CS captain (R) Fazeel Asghar has been directed to report to the establishment division. The transfer of the CS Balochistan has come two weeks after the Balochistan High Court (BHC) division bench passed harsh remarks against the latter.
“The CS’s poor performance has shattered the state of governance in Balochistan”, the bench comprising Mr. Justice Kamran Malakhail and Mr. Justice Rozi Khan Bareech remarked during the proceeding of a petition regarding issues pertaining to Quetta city.
CS Balochistan is the top civilian officer in the province and plays a key role in administrative and financial issues.
