Quetta Customs collects taxes above 16 billion rupees during 7 months

The Quetta Customs Collectorate (Appraisement) collected above Rs. 16 billion during seven months on account of taxes and duties, a well-placed source in the customs said. He said this is almost 95 percent target obtained by the Collectorate. Last year, the Customs had collected Rs. 17.50 billion rupees.
Quetta Customs also collected Rs. 4.3 billion during seven months on account of customs duties. This is around a 25 percent increase as compared to the last year, he mentioned. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) had given a target of Rs. 3.40 billion to the Collectorate.
“Customs passed all previous records in terms of tax collection”, he said
“Customs has surpassed all previous records in terms of tax collection”, the well-placed official revealed. He said, “it was not easy to collect billions of rupees on account of taxes and duties”.
The Customs collectorate had held successful meetings with office-bearers of the chamber of commerce and industries Balochistan and Chaman chamber to ensure collection of taxes.
The FBR Islamabad and Chief Collector Customs Balochistan, Gul Rehman have appreciated the performance of appraisement collector Waheed Marwat and other officers for their efforts.
