British Govt, WFP to spend 3.5 million pounds in health sector of Balochistan

The British government and the World Food Program (WFP) have announced to spend 3.5 million pounds in the health sector of Balochistan to improve health services.
British High Commissioner, Mr. Christian Turner made this announcement during his meeting with Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan on Thursday. Country director WFP, secretary health Balochistan and other high ups were also present during the meeting.

Jam Kamal appreciated the contribution of the British government and WFP for investing in the health sector of the province. “Education and health top priorities of the government”, the Chief Minister stated.
The Chief Minister discussed the issue of nutrition, climate change, education, women’s education, agriculture, sports, and other sectors during the meeting.

“We want to work on girls enrolment in schools”, the British High Commissioner assured the Chief Minister. He said his country was also committed to work in areas relating to climate change.
Jam Kamal told the delegation that his government was paying scholarships to deserving girls students to boost female education in the province. He stated that enrolment and presence of teachers improved after the introduction of the RTSM system.

The Chief Minister informed that work was in progress to launch a skill development program for the youth of 13 districts of Balochistan. He said the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor and establishment of industrial zones would generate more jobs and investment opportunities in the province.
The British High Commissioner also told the CM that his country wants to work for the enrolment of girls in the educational institutions. “This is my first visit to Balochistan”, he added.
