Fazal accuses PM of taking ‘mother of NROs’ in foreign funding case

Chief of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), Maulana Fazal ur Rehman has accused Prime Minister Imran Khan of taking ‘mother of NROs’ in the foreign funding case. Speaking to reporters after the anti-government alliance’s meeting in Islamabad on Monday, he lashed out at the Premier for what he claimed deceiving the masses of the country.
“PDM stands for supremacy of constitution and rule of law in this country”, he mentioned. He said all component parties of the 11-party alliance were trying to ensure true democracy in the country.
“Our struggle is for democracy and supremacy of the constitution”, Maulana Fazal ur Rehman stated. The PDM discussed the alliance’s proposed protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan’s office on Tuesday.
The PDM chief termed the foreign funding case of the ruling Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) as the biggest scandal. He claimed that the premier collected money from abroad on the pretext of charity. Then, Imran Khan used the same amount for political interests, he said.
The anti-government alliance has intensified its protest movement against the government to mount pressure on the ruling PTI and allies.
On February 5, he said, the day will be observed to express solidarity with Kashmiris, while simultaneously a “big rally” will be held in Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh where Kashmir’s political parties have also been invited.
Accusing the government of having “sold” Kashmir, Rehman said this strong protests will be held on Feb 5 for doing away with the Kashmir cause.
He informed rallies will also be held in Hyderabad on Feb 9, in Sialkot on Feb 13, in Balochistan’s Pishin on Feb 16, in Sardogha on Feb 23, in Khuzdar on Feb 27. Following the scheduled public meetings, the PDM will take a decision about staging a long march to Islamabad, Rehman added.
