Government puts Rs. 2m bounty on arrest of terrorists involved in coal miners killings

QUETTA: Balochistan government has announced head bounty of Rs. 2m on the arrest of terrorists involved in the killing of coal miners. In a press release, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has said the name of the person providing information about the terrorists would be kept secret.

Gunmen had killed 11 coal miners in Balochistan’s Mach area six days back. The victims belonged to the ethnic Shia Hazara community. The killing prompted the Hazara community to stage a sit-in in the Western Bypass area of Quetta. The community has been staging a sit-in for the last six days to mourn the killing of coal miners.

CTD registers case against terrorists in Naseerabad station 

The CTD has already lodged a case against unknown terrorists in Naseerabad police station. The case registered on the part of Station House Officer (SHO) CTD Naseerabad.

In the meantime, the district administration Quetta has asked the protesting Hazara community to end the ongoing sit-in. The blockade has caused the worst traffic jam and there are looming security threats to the protesters, an official handout issued by the district administration said.

The administration also asked the heirs to come forward and submit their details with regard to compensation. However, the Hazara community has continued its protest against the killing of coal miners.
