Mach tragedy: 7 coal miners identified as Afghan citizens: Shahwani

Spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani has said 7 coal miners killed in Mach area identified as Afghan nationals. The Afghan government has demanded of the government of Pakistan to hand over the dead bodies of three coal miners.

The Spokesman government of Balochistan took to Twitter and said the provincial government was considering the request of the Afghan government.

Mr. Shahwani also mentioned that Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has also chaired a high-level meeting to review the security situation in the aftermath of the Mach tragedy.

CM orders formation of JIT 

Chief Minister Jam Kamal has ordered the formation of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe into the Mach tragedy. The CM directed to submit a detailed report about the incident to the provincial government.

Home Minister Balochistan, Mir Ziaullah Langove, and other high ups were participating in the meeting that thoroughly discussed the security situation in the province. Jam Kamal has also directed the concerned quarters to probe into the incident and pinpoint the negligence of concerned officials in this regard.

Chief Minister has also requested the enraged Hazara community to bury the dead bodies and end the sit-in. However, the Hazara community has refused to bury the slain coal miners till the arrival of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
