The world marks December 5 as an international day for volunteers to promote volunteer services, especially by youth in the society. Mr. Ashraf has also arrived in Quetta to launch the 16-days activism from Balochistan, the country’s least developed province.
Last year, we formed a volunteer network in Balochistan comprising boy scouts, civil society, and the government of Balochistan with an objective to promote volunteer work, he said. “Now we can see a major change here”, Mr. Ashraf stated.
Women play an essential role in the promotion of volunteer work
The Coordinator UN volunteers for Pakistan stated that women play an essential role in this regard and they need to be encouraged and given the opportunity. He informed that 140 youth under the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) nominated and trained to promote volunteer work.
