Spin Boldak Chaman to be connected through railway: Sheikh Rasheed

QUETTA: The Federal Minister for Railways, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Thursday said the Afghan town Spin Boldak would be linked with Chaman through railway track. Addressing a press conference, Sheikh Rasheed said the laying of railway track would address the problems of people living on both sides of the border.

The Railway minister informed that Chaman-passenger train would be handed over to a private sector to improve its performance. Pakistan and Afghanistan had earlier agreed to lay down railway track between Chaman and Afghan town Spin Boldak.

“This will help connectivity”, the minister mentioned. He said the railway track from Peshawar to Karachi was being laid down to address the problems of the masses. This will help open new vistas of development and prosperity in the country, he mentioned.

About the prevailing political situation in the country, Sheikh Rasheed said the present government would complete its tenure. “PM Imran Khan will complete his tenure”, the country’s vocal minister said.

Opposition parties playing a dangerous game

He said the opposition political parties were playing a dangerous game under the cover of the slogan “respect the vote”. “This means to push the voter towards the wall and respect the vote”, he added.

Sheikh Rasheed said the narrative against the military was condemnable and its perpetrators should be questioned. “Military has sacrificed for the stability of the country”, the minister stated. The railways’ minister said the opposition’s politics was dying and now they were hatching conspiracies against the institutions to be alive.

“Masses support this government”, he said. Yes, Chaudhary brothers visited and met Shehbaz Sharif to express condolence over the demise of his mother, he informed.
