Levies arrest the killer for killing sister

Levies quickly acted and arrested the accused for killing his sister. The girl wanted to marry of her choice against the permission of her family members. This provoked the enraged brother who opened fire on her in presence of a tribal jirga. The Jirga held to sort out the issue amicably.

The killer belongs to the Pishin district of Balochistan province, Levies stated. As per the statistics shared by the UN Women Sub-Office Quetta, 16 women have been killed during the current year in the name of ‘honor’.

“Such incidents continue to rise in society”, Allauddin Khilji, the provincial chief of Aurat Foundation said. In Balochistan, most of the violent acts against women go unnoticed as tribal taboos and poor governance remained obstacles in reporting.
