Jattak meets Qadir Baloch, invited him to join PPP

Staff Reporter:

QUETTA: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Balochistan President Ali Madad Jattak on Thursday called on Lt General (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch and invited him to join his party. Mr. Baloch has recently resigned from the Pakistan Muslim League (N), the party he was leading currently in Balochistan province. Mr. Baloch has opposed the PML N narrative during the PDM public meetings.

“Mr. Jattak requested General (R) Baloch to join PPP”, a news item shared by the party’s media cell said. Qadir Baloch thanked Mr. Jattak and said he would make a decision after consultation with friends, the media cell mentioned.

Difference developed between Lt. General (R) Qadir Baloch, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri and the PML N’s central command in the aftermath of Quetta PDM Jalsa. Mr. Baloch objected over the PML N narrative and non-invitation of Nawab Zehri, the former chief minister Balochistan to the PDM Jalsa.

Qadir Baloch remained Governor and Corps Commander Balochistan

Lt. General (R) Qadir Baloch was one of the central leaders of the PML N and he remained federal minister for SAFRON during former prime minister Nawaz Sharif led government. He has also served as Governor and Corps Commander Balochistan in the past.

Nawab Zehri is yet to make any formal statement with regard to current differences with party leadership. Zehri served as the chief minister of Balochistan for around two years during PMLN led government in the center and province. Nawab Zehri had received PML N Vice President  Maryam Nawaz at Queta airport upon her arrival on October 24th. However, the PML N leaders preferred not to invite him to the PDM Quetta Jalsa citing a tribal dispute with Balochistan National Party (Mengal) Chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal.
