Muslim Club beats Afghan Club Chaman in Semi-Final

Muslim Club Chaman defeated Afghan Club Chaman in Semin Final held at Quetta’s Ayub Stadium on Sunday evening. Over 20,000 spectators turned out to witness the Semi-Final of All Pakistan Chief Minister Gold Cup Football Tournament. The Afghan Club Chaman that always dominated football tournaments suffered a major shock after its defeat from its arch-rival Muslim Club Chaman.

The two teams from Chaman equalized during the first half and second half of the match. Subsequently, the jury decided penalty kicks. In penalty kicks, the Muslim Club Chaman defeated the Afghan Club Chaman in the aftermath of an interesting competition.

Balochistan Youth and Sports Affairs Department has organized the tournament in Quetta to promote football in the province. 44 teams from across the country participated in the tournament. ” Tomorrow final match would be between the Muslim Club Chaman and Pakistan WAPDA”, Imran Gichki, the Secretary Sports Balochistan told Quetta Voice.

Supporters of both teams kept continued chanting slogans in support of their teams to boost the morale of the players battling for victory in the ground. The ground remained jam-packed with spectators during the match.

“We are trying to promote sports activities in Balochistan”, Imran Gichki said. Under Gichki, the Sports department has taken various initiatives in almost all districts of Balochistan to provide an opportunity to sportsmen belonging to far-flung areas of the province.
