QUETTA: The Balochistan government on Tuesday approved a one-month basic salary for the health professionals battling the COVID19 in the province. The finance department government of Balochistan issued a notification in this regard.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan had directed to pay one-month basic salary to all health professionals including doctors, paramedics, and nurses battling the COVID19, Noor ul Haq Baloch, the Secretary Finance said.

Health professionals across the province had demanded of the provincial government to pay the additional salary as recognition of their services. “This salary is like a risk allowance to the health professionals”, the official handout issued to the press said.

The Balochistan government has already announced risk allowances for doctors, nurses, and paramedics battling the deadly virus in the province. Health professionals in Balochistan have played a key role in the battle against the virus since its outbreak in earlier March this year.
