BHC directs all commissioners, DIGs to take effective steps to eliminate child abuses

The Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Monday directed all commissioners and the deputy inspector generals of police to take effective steps to eliminate and bring an end to growing child abuse in the province. A division bench of BHC comprising the Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, and Mr. Justice Abdul Hameed Baloch passed this directive on an application filed by a person Boor Muhammad in this regard.

In his application, Boor Muhammad lamented that unknown culprits raped and then murdered his eight-year-old son Inamullah. The tragic incident happened in the Maizai Addah area of the Killa Abdullah district. He made an appeal to the court to direct the administration of arrest the culprits. Chief Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail took notice of the tragic incident and directed the concerned quarters to give him an in-camera briefing.

Application converted into constitutional petition 

The court converted the application into a constitutional petition and directed the commissioner Quetta division, deputy commissioner Killa Abdullah to ensure the arrest of the culprits in the case. The deputy commissioner Killa Abdullah, Tariq Javed Mengal informed the court that the postmortem has confirmed the brutal incident. Mr. Mengal sought a reasonable time to submit the report in this regard.

The court also directed the deputy inspector general police to support levies in the investigation process and visit the spot of the crime. The deputy commissioner Killa Abdullah and the deputy inspector general police should arrest the culprits, the BHC ordered.

The bench also directed all commissioners and the deputy inspector generals of police to take concrete steps for eliminating the child abuses. The court expressed serious concern over growing incidents of child abuse. The bench directed the registrar of BHC to compile all data of child abuse cases in trial courts and submit it. The trial courts are directed to ensure timely disposal of child abuse cases. The hearing of the case adjourned till October 19th.
