Land dispute claims 5 lives in Balochistan
SIBI: Land dispute has claimed 5 lives in Balochistan’s Kachi district on Tuesday. Niamatullah, a senior administration official told the daily Quetta Voice said 5 people killed as a result of an armed clash between two tribes in the Landi Khosa area of Kachi district. Haji Hayat Rind, the former vice-chairman municipal committee Sibi is also among the dead, he informed.
Armed men of both tribes opened indiscriminate firing against each other. Panic prevailed in the area in the aftermath of the deadly clash. Levies said two people also injured as a result of armed clash. The injured are being taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, Niamatullah said.
A huge contingent of levies moved in the area to restore normalcy and avoid the occurrence of another untoward incident. The tribes identified as Rind and Khosa have an old tribal land dispute in the area.
The dead bodies also shifted to the hospital for postmortem, the administration official said. Tribal disputes have claimed scores of precious lives in Balochistan.
