Balochistan has confirmed 110 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Thursday. The number of cases rises to 13,045 in the province. The number of cases continues to spike in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan during the last one week.
This is the highest number of cases in the last one month since cases were dropped in Balochistan. A total of 11, 861 patients have recovered from the deadly virus since the outbreak of the pandemic. Most of the patients have recovered from the virus at their homes in isolation. “The recovery rate in Balochistan is encouraging”, Liaquat Shahwani, the Spokesman of the provincial government told the daily Quetta Voice.

Mr. Shahwani said the government had devised a strategy to improve health facilities in government-run hospitals. “We successfully battle coronavirus”, he claimed.
The COVID19 has caused 143 deaths in the province. However, independent sources the number of deaths much higher than the government’s figures. The government has decided to improve the testing capacity to reach out to maximum number of patients. “We are establishing corona laboratories on divisional level”, chief minister, Jam Kamal said.
The provincial government has eased the lock-down after decline in the number of cases. “We realize the difficulties of masses during lockdown”, Jam Kamal said.
All 33 districts of Balochistan have reported cases of the virus. Moreover, Quetta, Pishin, Killa Abdullah, Jaffarabad, Chaghi have reported more cases. The first case of the coronavirus was reported in March at Fatima Jinnah Chest and General Hospital.
CM Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan chaired a high-level meeting about the health department on Thursday evening. He allowed the department to purchase medicines and other medical equipment to cope with any emergency situation in the province. “Health sector is our top priority”, the CM reiterated.
Balochistan has so far over 76,000 tests of the novel coronavirus since the outbreak of the pandemic.
