Chief Commissioner Income Tax Quetta, Dr. Lubna Ayub has assured that the grievances and complaints of the business community would be addressed. She expressed these views while speaking to a delegation led by Badruddin Kakar, the Senior Vice President, Balochistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).
Chairman Standing Committee on Income Tax, Muhammad Amjad Siddiqui, office bearers of BCCI including Juma Khan Badezai, Syed Sarwar Agha and Salahuddin Khilji was also present on the occasion.
The delegation apprised the transfer of 38 major taxpayers’ payment issue from Quetta to Karachi. The business community expressed reservations over transfer of major taxpayers.
“All grievances of the business community would be addressed on priority bases”, Dr. Lubna Ayub told the delegation. She said the literacy rate in Balochistan was low as compared to other parts of the country. That is why, the business community was facing problems in terms of payment of taxes, she added.
Senior Vice President of BCCI, Badruddin Kakar pointed out that there was a lack of industries and factories in the province. A special concession should be granted to the business community to promote trader here, he demanded.

Despite odds, the business community in Balochistan is committed to paying taxes, Mr. Amjad Siddiqui stated on the occasion. He however demanded of the chief income tax commissioner to take up the issue of transfer of major taxpayers from Quetta to Karachi with the head office so that they could easily pay their taxes here.

Dr. Luban thus mentioned that BCCI was playing an important role in the promotion of business activities in Balochistan. “It is like a bridge between the business community and FBR”, she added. She said all traders and businessmen should pay their taxes since it was crucial for the development and prosperity of the country.
