Head of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Sub-Office Quetta, Zulfiqar Durrani has said despite the risks of contracting the novel coronavirus, police force performed their duties well during the lockdown in the province.
Mr. Durrani expressed these views while handing over protective equipment for police to inspector general police Balochistan, Mohsin Butt on Thursday. The UNDP provided washable, reusable PPEs, protective goggles masks including N95 and KN95, hand sanitizers, and gloves, to the police force.
“Police deserve to be appreciated in battling the deadly virus along with other departments”, Zulfiqar Durrani stated.
Speaking on the occasion, the inspector general police Balochistan, Mohsin Butt thanked UNDP for the support and showed commitment towards working together for a stronger rule of law in Balochistan. He also appreciated UNDP’s support to the expansion of Police Training College Quetta with the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs’ support.
Secretary Sports and chief of command and operation center Balochistan, Imran Gichki also appreciated the efforts of UNDP in supporting police and other government departments in battling the coronavirus. During the function, officials from UNDP and police were also present on the occasion.
