Pakistan Customs seized smuggled goods worth 211 million rupees in Balochistan's Mastung district: Photo taken from a video shared by customs

Pakistan Customs foiled a major bid of smuggling by seizing buses loaded with smuggled goods in Balochistan’s Mastung district on Tuesday. The value of the seized goods is approximately Rs. 211 million.

Buses were loaded with 32 Metric tons almonds, betel nuts 30.8 metric tons, clothes, blankets and other smuggled items, Spokesman Customs told the daily Quetta Voice.

The smugglers were trying to shift the aforesaid items to various parts of the country when customs conducted the raid. Buses and goods were taken into custody and investigation was launched in this regard.

Action against smugglers was taken on a tip-off. The Frontier Corps (FC) also supported the Customs on the occasion of the raid. Pakistan Customs has beefed up raids against the smugglers across the province recently.
