Members of legal fraternity have announced two-days of a boycott of courts across Balochistan in protest over an attack at the senior lawyer, Asghar Panezai advocate on Wednesday evening. Mr. Panezai was injured in an attack in Quetta’s Jinnah road on Wednesday evening. He was shifted to hospital for medical treatment.

In a statement issued to the press, the Balochistan Bar Council (BBC) announced a boycott of courts throughout the province on July 23rd and 24th. The BBC would evolve a future protest strategy after consultation with all representative bodies of lawyers.

The reason behind the attack at the senior lawyer could not be immediately ascertained.
