Chief Secretary Balochistan, Captain (R) Fazeel Asghar has refused to receive the reward money on account of preparing the financial budget for the year 2020-21, the CS office said in an explanatory statement. For almost a decade, the CS, finance department, assembly staff are paid reward amounts by the government after preparation of the budget.
From officers to peons, the government had decided to pay them four-month and two and half months’ salary for the contribution in the preparation of the budget as a tradition. This was approved by the chief minister and cabinet. The CS office in its explanation stated that neither the CS had approved the reward nor adopted any illegal means in this regard.
