Court orders UoB VC to pay salaries of employees

The Balochistan High Court (BHC) ordered the provincial government to form a committee headed by the chairman chief minister inspection team to review schemes under the public sector development program for the financial year 2020-21.

A divisional bench of the BHC comprising chief justice, Mr. justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail and justice Nazeer Ahmed Langove passed this order on a petition on Thursday. Opposition leader in Balochistan Assembly, Malik Sikandar Advocate, Balochistan National Party (Mengal) legislator, Akhtar Hussain Langove, Malik Naseer Shahwani and others had filed a petition in the BHC challenging the PSDP.

The committee would review judgments of the Supreme Court of Pakistan about Raja Nadir Pervez, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal and Zamarak Achakzai cases regarding the PSDP. The committee would submit its report before the divisional bench on July 28th.

The opposition leader, Malik Sikandar Advocate has mentioned in his petition that the current PSDP was in violation of the principles of the Planning Commission and judgments of BHC and the Supreme Court of Pakistan in this regard.

Secretary Finance Balochistan, Secretary Implementation and Chief Economist Planning and Development Department would be the members of the committee, mentioned in the copy of the BHC order obtained by the daily Quetta Voice. Malik Naseer Shahwani of the opposition and finance minister Zahoor Buledi and agriculture minister, Zamarak Achakzai would present their stance before the committee.
