Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Major (R) Aurangzaib Badini has canceled 122 fake domiciles certificates during a verification process by the administration. The accused had managed to obtain domicile certificates through fraudulent means and bribes from Quetta city, sources in the deputy commissioner’s office told the daily Quetta Voice.

The Balochistan government had directed all deputy commissioners to verify domiciles of all employees recruited in various federal departments in the province. The deputy commissioner Mastung has already canceled 400 fake domiciles.

The accused had got jobs in various federal departments in the past, the sources said. They belonged to various parts of the country. The process of verification is underway as per the directives of the chief minister, they added. Currently, over 8,000 domiciles obtained in Quetta are under the process of verification, the sources disclosed to the daily Quetta Voice.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan has also announced the cancellation of domicile certificates and said that it was for the first time in the history of the province that action was taken the elements who have obtained fake domiciles.
