After mounting political pressure, the former federal information Minister, Javed Jabbar has resigned as a member national finance commission (NFC) award for Balochistan on Saturday.

The Balochistan government had earlier nominated Javed Jabbar as its member to represent the province in the NFC award meeting regarding the distribution of national resources among the provinces and center.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan took to Twitter and announced the resignation of Javed Jabbar. “Javed Jabbar’s resignation is a sad event, and it is sad to see how some self-centered people made disinformation about him”, he tweeted on Saturday evening.

Member National Assembly, Muhammad Aslam Bhootani had challenged the nomination of Javed Jabbar as the member NFC for Balochistan in the high court. Senior lawyers Kamran Murtaza and Mir Attaullah Langove had also challenged JJ’s nomination in the court.
