In Balochistan, 792 patients have recovered from the deadly novel coronavirus so far. The health department’s corona cell confirmed 124 fresh cases of the COVID19 on Friday that took the tally to 3,198 in the province.

“The number of patients recovered is much higher than what is being quoted by the government”, a doctor who serves at Fatima Jinnah Chest and General hospital told the daily Quetta Voice. He declined to be named since he was not authorized to speak to the media.

The Balochistan health department has so far conducted over 20,000 tests in the province. The provincial government has decided to expand and improve the testing capacity to make sure maximum tests in the province.

The novel coronavirus has claimed 39 lives in Balochistan. Most of the patients have died in Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan province. Five patients from district Pishin have also died as result of the COVID19.

Cases appear to be on a constant rise in Balochistan recently. Quetta, Pishin, Killa Abdullah, Jaffarabad, Lasbella have been hit hard by the virus. Cases have increased in the province in the aftermath of government’s decision to ease the lockdown.
