The cases of novel coronavirus have passed 32,916 across the country on Tuesday. As per the statistics shared by the provincial health departments and center, the number of cases continues to increase during last few days.

The virus has caused 733 deaths in the country. However, over 8,555 patients have recovered from the deadly virus in Pakistan.

Most of the cases have been confirmed from Punjab and Sindh provinces as the two provincial governments have improved their testing capacity. Punjab has confirmed 11,868, Sindh 12,610, Balochistan, 2,158, Khyber Pukhtunkhwa 4,669, GB 430, Islamabad 716 and AJK has confirmed 86 cases.

Pakistan has been ranked by the John Hopkins University as the 20th most-affected country by the novel coronavirus as the number of cases in the country rises beyond 30,000.

In terms of deaths, Pakistan occupies the 27th spot. So far, Pakistan has recorded 648 casualties from Covid-19.

As the number of cases and casualties rises, the government is looking to ease restrictions in lockdown in order to minimise economic impact.
