Zia Khan, Quetta's well-known social activist

QUETTA: Well-known social activist, Zia Khan has been tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Mr. Khan contracted the virus during his ongoing campaign to support needy and deserving people during the outbreak of COVID-19. Zia Khan developed symptoms of the coronavirus the other day and was tested positive, friends and family members confirmed to Quetta Voice.

Zia Khan has been kept in isolation and quarantined to battle the virus, which continues to penetrate globally. Despite all odds, Mr. Khan stepped forward and supported needy and deserving people affected by the coronavirus.

“He is the face of Quetta city and prays for his immediate recovery”, Amjad Rasheed, the chief executive of Taraqee Foundation tells Quetta Voice.

The news of Khan went viral on social media and scores of people praised and commented on posts and tweets for his immediate recovery, praising his social work in the city. “Our hero always put his life at peril”, Arzak Khan, one of the colleagues of Khan said.

Zia Khan runs Quetta Online, a social organization established by him to support people in troubles and crises. Irrespective of creed, color, region and religion, Quetta Online has supported thousands of families and individuals during difficult times.

The concept of charity and social mobilization has been introduced by Zia Khan in Quetta and has been followed by a number of people and organizations to support the needy and poor segment of society.
