PPE kits provided to doctors at BMCH Quetta

Health Desk:

Senior doctors of Bolan Medical Complex Hospital (BMCH) purchased personal protective equipment to battle the novel coronavirus in Balochistan. Donations were collected from senior doctors to purchase personal protective equipment at BMCH, the province’s largest government-run hospital.

“We collected the donations from our doctors and purchased PPEs”, Professor Dr. Ayesha, a senior gynecologist said. The PPEs include 17 kits and 100-N masks for doctors, she informed.

In Balochistan, so far 18 doctors including seniors and juniors have been tested positive for the COVID-19. However, four paramedics were also infected by the virus, which continues to penetrate across the country and globe.

“We are determined to treat our patients despite odds”, Dr. Zahir Khan Mandokhail, another senior doctor who practices in BMCH said.

The doctors have repeatedly criticized the government for what they claim its failure to provide PPEs. Dozens of doctors were arrested baton-charged by police during a protest demonstration near chief minister house the other day.

The PPEs purchased in Islamabad, the federal capital reached on Friday to Quetta, Dr. Ayesha informed.
