QUETTA: Two employees of chief minister Balochistan’s secretariat have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus. This was revealed by the spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani in a press briefing on Thursday.

“Yes, two employees contracted the virus and have been kept in isolation”, Mr. Shahwani told reporters. In Balochistan, so far 164 people have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Commenting on relief package of the government, the Spokesman said all-out efforts were being made by the government to make sure provision of foodstuff to needy, deserving and daily wage workers in the province.

So far, we have received 5000 N-masks are other goods from the federal government he said. To a question, he said protective equipment were being provided to hospitals so that doctors could perform in a better way.

Mr. Shahwani informed that a committee comprising senior officers was formed to contact national and international donors to cope with the situation developed in the aftermath of outbreak of this pandemic.

Yet to another question, he said, “we are facing lack of testing kits”. He however said that the government was making efforts to make sure the availability of testing kits in the province so that tests of suspected patients could be conducted.
