BHC suspends Balochistan Govt’s order regarding deputy commissioners’ transfers

QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Tuesday ordered the suspension of provincial government’s order for transfers of 14 deputy commissioners in the province. The Balochistan government through a notification had transferred 14 deputy commissioners of various districts the other day.
Chief Justice BHC, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail during the hearing of case with regard to the coronavirus on Tuesday ordered that the notification should be suspended and the officers should keep continuing their duties in these crucial times. Senior lawyer, Rab Nawaz Advocate informed the court regarding transfer orders of the Balochistan government. Senior lawyers of Balochistan have filed a petition regarding the deadly coronavirus and steps taken by the provincial government in this regard.
The Chief Justice remarked that there was no justification for transfers of deputy commissioners during these crucial times. The advocate general presented the cancellation of the order of deputy commissioner Zhob before the court. However, the BHC chief justice ordered that other orders should also be cancelled by the government.
The case with regard to the deadly coronavirus was adjourned till Thursday.
