PM Imran Khan calls for self-quarantine to halt coronavirus
Pakistan is not Europe and cannot be completely locked down
Prime Minister, Imran Khan has urged upon the people to stay at home and adopt self-quarantine to contain the deadly coronavirus on Sunday.
“Let me first tell you, complete lockdown means, completely locking the people at their homes”, Mr. Khan said in an address to the nation regarding the coronavirus, which continues to penetrate across the globe.
The Premier stated that 25 percent population of Pakistan was living below the worst poverty line and that they can not afford to stay at home. He said Europe and other developed States can adopt lockdown since their social indicators are better than us.
He said that if Pakistan’s conditions were the same was as other countries like Italy, he would have imposed a lockdown.
