NOSHKI: A large number of people staged a sit in outside a police station in Balochistan’s Noshki city against the killing of young student Samiullah Mengal on Friday morning. Samiullah Mengal was martyred by drug peddlers a week ago when he complained overt sale of drugs in the city before the officials.

The protesters demanded of the government to bring the perpetrators of Sami Mengal’s murder to book and give them exemplary punishment. They were chanting slogans against police for what they claim its failure to arrest the culprits involved in the murder of Sami Mengal.

However, Spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaqat Shahwani tweeted the other day that two accused were arrested by police in connection with the murder of Sami Mengal. He said total five accused were nominated in the FIR of Sami Mengal and two of the accused were in police custody.

Mr. Shahwani also said the murder case of Sami Mengal was transferred to Crimes Branch police Quetta for investigation.

The protesters peacefully dispersed after recording their protest before the police station. There was no immediate word from police about the protest of citizens.
